Where Has the Time Gone?

Considering that Harrison turned 8 months two days ago, I thought it is about time I get this post published. I don't know why I have the hardest time writing Harrison's monthly posts. I think it is because I find it impossible to write in words just how much we love this little man and everything that he is doing at the moment. So here is my attempt at his six and seven month update.

Six Months

Seven Months

Here are Harrison's current stats (taken at his six month check up)

Weight: 16. 8 lbs (30%)

Height: 25 3/4 in. (25%)

Sleep: We are still working on the sleeping thing. We were down to getting up only once during the night, but for the past few weeks Harrison has been waking up 2 to 4 times a night. Basically, we have reverted back to the newborn stage. At this rate, I am just hoping that he sleeps through the night by 1. Despite not sleeping at night, Harrison has become a great little napper. He takes a morning and afternoon nap for about 1 - 2 hours each.

Food: Harrison LOVES his food. We are on level 2 foods and have introduced Baby Mum Mum's. We haven't had him tested for Celiac Disease, so we are holding off on introducing anything with Gluten. Hopefully, he won't take after his Mommy in that area.

Clothes: Size 2-3 diapers, 12 month clothes.

Harrison has become sooo fun! I have decided that this is my favorite age. Harrison can play and interact with you, but he isn't crawling yet - so he is still easy to keep up with. Considering how much Harrison moves (and jumps) we are getting a little worried that we are going to have our hands full once he starts moving.

In addition to mastering sitting and getting two teeth, Harrison has really developed a personality in the past two months. These are just a handful of his favorites things at the moment.

  • Bath time with Daddy. It is amazing to watch the excitement in his eyes when he sees the water running.
  • Reading his books

  • Riding in his new bike

  • Walking in his walker  - that is his 'serious' face.

  • Bradie - even though we aren't sure how mutual the feeling is.

  • Blowing Rasperries

  • Loving on his Green Blankie

  • Going on Walks

  • Playing "Where's Harrison"

  • Playing with Mommy's iPhone - especially the Sponge Bob app.

  • Practicing waving and giving High-Fives

  • Looking at himself in the mirror - he likes to hit his reflection in the mirrior, it is really funny.

  • Being held upside down

I could go on, and on, and on... this little boy never stops, ane we are loving every minute of it!

Enjoying the Ride

Harrison's Grandma and Grandpa have spoiled him from the moment we found out we were pregnant. We owe so much to them! Well, their most recent purchase may just turn out to be Harrison's favorite. They bought him his first bike. Do you think he likes it?

This bike is awesome! We can push Harrison in it now, and it converts to a tricycle for when he is bigger. Don't worry... it also comes complete with a toy cell phone, cup holder, sun visor, and pouch for keys, etc. Basically it is the Rolls Royce of bikes.

He absolutely loves this thing! He holds onto the handles and jumps up and down on the petals while we push him. He will stay on it as long as you let him.

I am amazed that he knows to hold on at only 7 months.

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for my bike!!

P.S. - please don't judge the fact that Harrison is still in his pajamas... and I won't even begin to tell you what time it was!

Our Little Valentine

In addition to having an excuse to eat chocolate in massive quantities, this Valentine's Day gave me another excuse to play "dress up" with Harrison. I had been wanting to get pictures of Harrison like this for awhile. So against Ryan's will, I picked out a red tie and made them Harrison's Valentine's photos. I am in LOVE with them!
This Valentine's included several firsts for Harrison...

Harrison's first Valentines card that he sent to all of his friends. It may just be the cutest Valentine I have ever seen!

And Harrison's first Valentines gift to Mommy. I got these delivered to me at work, and I couldn't have been more surprised. Thanks Harrison (and Daddy) for being so thoughtful!

Is it bad that these didn't even last 24 hours and I didn't share a single one?!?!

Super Bowl!

Super..what?!?! If you asked me who played, what the score was, or what was the best commercial I would have the same answer for all three... I have absolutely no idea. What I do know, is that I made sure Harrison had an adorable outfit to wear to Ashley's Super Bowl party.
And.... of course, that his girlfriend had one to match! How cute are they?!?!

Milk Nazi

Ever since Harrison was born, Ryan has been very into the breastfeeding process. I remember the two of us sitting in the hospital bed at 2 a.m. trying to nurse Harrison. At that time, it seemed to be a two man job. After Harrison and I got the hang of nursing, Ryan was still very concerned about my milk supply. He would call home from work just to see if I had pumped and how much I got. I quickly learned that I was married to the Milk Nazi.

Ryan never seemed to understand how hard it was to take care of a newborn, nurse every 3 hours, and find the time to pump in between. Despite the Milk Nazi's orders, I was never concerned about building up a supply in the freezer.

Well, since I have had to return back to work. I finally had to give in and start building up a supply of milk. Now our freezer is overflowing with milk. All I want to say is... Take that Milk Nazi!!

The funniest thing about this post is that I pumped 7.5 ounces while I wrote it. The Milk Nazi would be so proud!!

A Model in the Making

Everyone knows I am slightly photo obsessed, to say the least. In addition to taking a million photos, I also follow a handful of photographers blogs. Recently, one of these photographers posted that they were looking for a baby boy 6-12 months old to model some clothes. If your baby got picked they would get the clothes and pictures for free. What could be better free clothes and free professional pics of my little man?!?!

I immediately began to scour the thousands of photos I have of Harrison to find the best one to submit for the contest. Being the indecisive person I am, I ended up submitting this collage of photos of Harrison. (p.s. - In the bottom middle picture he is wearing a New Years Hat that got cut off, not a headband!)

Due to my obsessive personality, I have been checking my e-mail constantly to see if he won. Well.... today I got the news - HE WON!! Harrison was picked out of 28 babies to model the clothes. This just confirms that I have the cutest baby ever!! (I am his mother - I am allowed to say that)

Harrison will get to keep all the clothes and we get the professional pics for free. He will also be pictured on the clothing and photographers websites. The clothes are from http://www.sweetbirdie.com/ - they look really cute! I cant' wait to see what she has for him to wear. The photographer is  http://www.littlemeadowphotography.blogspot.com/
Check out their websites and keep an eye out for my little model!
